The 4.0 mm Cancellous Screw, Short Thread features wide, deep-pitched threads covering only the distal portion of the shaft to maximize grip in spongy, porous cancellous bone. The unthreaded proximal shaft allows the screw to glide smoothly, drawing the far bone fragment toward the screw head to generate strong interfragmentary compression. Commonly used in small-fragment metaphyseal and articular fracture fixations—such as the ankle, wrist, or knee—it ensures precise, lag-effect stabilization during bone healing.
